Home schooled. Good or Bad?

Emile Midgley: It is always better to be schooled and that is why it is called that way ( Not homed ).Unless & until you don't have circumstantial boundations, I recommend going to a proper school.Answer Mine: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtCfa...

Lahoma Beadell: no count if or no longer you savour being homeschooling completely relies upon on no longer basically you, the student, yet in addition your instructor, many times mothers and fathers. some pupils particularly earnings from having the single on one interest that homeschooling gives you, yet others have worry specializing in schoolwork at homestead. I recommend which you're making homeschooling relaxing. Make your training a concern; take earnings of on a daily basis. once you end next year (or in spite of the shown fact that some years you homeschool) you will no longer might desire to be afflicted by no longer having a suited training. My youthful brother is homeschooled this year, and does! not extremely like being faraway from his acquaintances throughout the time of faculty, yet he basically tries to concentration on his schoolwork and many times gets achieved early! you may desire to grow to be in touch in some extra beneficial events to maintain from losing interest and to make new acquaintances. maximum libraries have teenager examining golf equipment, some have unfastened stay shows and performs, and so on. good success :)...Show more

Giovanni Malool: I was home schooled for 4 years and I loved it. I finished my work and the school was over for the day. My grandmother taught use with something called paces. You work at your own pace and the book teaches you. They're by a company called A.C.E. Now, these are christian schooling stuff, but still, it was great. I've been to private school, home schooled, and I'm in public school now, and out of all of them I liked homeschooling the best. I wish I was still home schooled....Show more

Rubye Bonni! n: Hi :)It's good =]but it is quite different from High School! !and some people are different they may like homeschooling or may hate it but i love it

Kip Ockenfels: Well, my brother is cyber schooled and he loves it. He finishes his work in no time, he still hangs out with his friends from school, goes to the mall and everything.

Kris Otuafi: well i was in private school most of my life but when i wasn't i was home schooled i loved it my husband was also home schooled at one point and my brother and a best friend i think its great but we did not do it online we went throught the A.C.E. program your mom might not like the idea because as far as i know a parent has to be present when schooling or maybe she thinks you won't learn as much but you will trust me. but if your going to homeschool look at all your options because my sister-in-law did school online and now if she wants to join the military or something she has to get a G.E.D because her deploma is not valid i would suggest homeschool through a school where you do yo! ur work at home and then you go so many days a month to test...Show more

Barton Morfee: Advantages of Homeschooling:Individualized education that can be custom fit the learning style and interests of each studentAbility to seek out more hands on/field-trip opportunitiesAbility to move at the speed that the student needs in each subject"School work" can be finished in much less time than a typical school day because of teacher/student ration, no wasted time on home-room, period changes etc.Lack of being bound by age/grade level/ school district etc.Not bound by the public school calendar for vacations etc"School" can take place anywhere at any time.Socializing and socialization (which are 2 different things BTW) takes place in the real world, vs. the segregated setting of public school.Disadvantages: Other peoples prejudices against homeschoolTo correct some of the lies given in other anwers:The US military considers homeschoolers who score a 50 or higher as Tier 1 rec! ruits. They consider GED (and correspondence school diplomas) as tier 2! recruits. Most branches only accept a small number of tier 2 and tier 3 (did not finish high school) recruits. http://www.oklahomahomeschooling.org/docs/Military...No you do not need a parent there if you are old enough to be at home alone....Show more

Dallas Bartolini: Its cuz home schooling is for losers

Michal Semple: Your mom is probably only concerned with socializing for you. That seems to be a fear for parents when it comes to homeschooling. You most likely could participate in your districts extra curricular activities so offer to do that. If you don't like the people, offer to join like a dance class and music/art class or even a literature class. She might be thinking on all you will miss out on, so bring up how when you go to college there will be plenty of dances and activities to do there. You will be able to join groups in college, write papers for conferences, join sports or anything really you could do in high school. Tell her that decidin! g to go to home school is not a permanant decision and you all could change your mind. I mean, that is huge thing to learn when making decisions, it is not about permenancy and people can change their minds. Just be sure to understand that when starting home school, your mom could change her mind and so could you. Tell her it is just a trial, one semester. Her fears could subside in that time, if you stop trying or are not learning, she could easily sign you up for summer school and reenroll in regular school.Good luck....Show more
