Ardelia Liptow: Yes, for as long as you have basic cable anyways. You still need to subscribe to the TiVo service for the models that require it. No sort of TV service, or lack thereof, is and excuse from the TiVo subscription requirement.Many providers are working on eliminating analog cable from their systems, so may not have anlog cable for long. Not to mention, if you are just cancelling cable altogether, they will unplug you.What I would do is get a TiVo HD model, and use it for analog and manual QAM recordings, and connect an antenna to get OTA stations for free....Show more
