Jerrod Guilfoil: My advice would really depend upon his age. For 2 and up its mostly about discipline and motivating him to get in and stay in his seat. He doesn't get in: he doesn't go bye-bye. Set aside some time to teach him this. Get him ready to go, tell him if he stays in his seat he gets to go tothe park, he gets out, he gets to go back home. AND DO IT. Motivate him, here's a tip from a CPST (child passenger safety technician) at http://www.car-seat.org :Keep a washable marker handy - let him know he gets a paw print (like Blues Clues, or soemthing else he likes) drawn on his hand - 1 for getting in the seat iwthout a fight, 1 for staying in it until you get to where you're going. When he does get out, immediately pull over and put him back in. Let him know when he gets out, the car stops and he goe snowhere.Less then 2 - distract. Its a phase, lol, and won't last too long. Also, get some adhesive velcro from the craft/sewing area of a store. Cut some small pieces o! ff the rough/hook side, stick it to the buttons of the chest clip, and the the button to release the seat belt and harness. Kids hate the feel so much most will only touch it once and never do it again, but its not overly uncomfortable for an adult to deal with. You don't want to use anything that alters the way the belt or harness work....Show more

Mikel Bethay: I dont know. My nine month old gets out of her seat so I put a bay mirror to catch her in the act. I got her a portable dvd player and she watches baby einstein. It seems to distract her from wanting to get out her car seat.
