Are there "day markets" in Taiwan?

Kalyn Proietto: Every area had a day Market.Atmosphere is quite different. I love the Day Market off Mintzu East Road -Huge wholesale market, I go there twice a month to buy stuffThe Huguang Market in Neihu is great. A mixture of clothes and food next to each other. Another nice Market is the one on Wuchang Street in Between the route to Taipei station from Ximenting They have the food and Veg Market on one side of the street and the clothes etc on the other side called Chengzhong Market. Lots of nice local food in both this area.http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y97/nuttyazn/Taiw...http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y97/nuttyazn/Taiw......Show more

Asa Soho: Of course.

Dorine Nurre: Nothing can replace the feel of night markets. However, there ARE some day markets, as WNL said. I'll just stick with the night markets, myself, because I love them so much. Nothing like some fresh melon tea, yeah?

Gerardo Greist: I wouldn't say it's quite the same atmosphere, ! but as an example, there is a big day market in Hualien where they have foods, street vendors, crafts, oddball trinkets, miscellaneous merchandise (like an American "flea market"), and karaoke cafes. It's located only a few blocks away from the more well-known NanBin Night Market.

Antwan Schrum: Its not quite the same vibrancy. Morning markets mostly stick to selling cheap vegetables (its a fact: the cheapest time of day to get your veggies is to get them between 11AM and 12 noon.) (they want to clear them out at that time.) You will see the a-mahs at this time of day, with their stout legs and possibly a kid or two with them. The clothes tend to gear towards grandmotherly tastes, but some discount stores might have good deals on factory castaways. Some of the afternoon/early evening markets have more food than night markets offer. The items on sale are about the same as at night. The night markets have more games, flashy lights and more girls in short skirts strutting! around. In short, better eye candy. The food is ok, but tends! to be more unhealthy fried stuff than either morning or afternoon markets have....Show more
