can raw vegans female get pregnant?

Kellie Waycott: yes

Patrick Bitsui: Yes

Mauro Cowee: if you f*** a raw carrot then you can become pregnant with another terrible human being such as yourself

Dick Baumgarten: Almost any living female with ovaries (for the hormones and maybe the egg - though that's not a necessity), a uterus (for obvious reasons), and the urge can get pregnant. It could take everything from a quickie in the back seat to some *seriously* heavy duty (and expensive) medical intervention and everythingin between. But yes. If you're asking is it safe and/or healthy for a woman whose diet is raw vegan - or if it would be more difficult - that's a somewhat more complex question. though not impossible)The simple answer is: As long as she is of a healthy weight (being too thin can be just as harmful as being too heavy) and is consuming the right vitamins/minerals, and is otherwise healthy, there's no reason she can't conceive. The same goes for carrying a healthy child to term. Sh! e should be aware of what (if anything) in her diet is missing that requires supplements to keep the baby healthy. B12 is harder to get (though not impossible) without meat, so she might need injections, for example. A growing baby needs protein and calcium. A woman who is trying to conceive should already BE taking a folic acid supplement, since a baby needs lots of that even before a woman even knows she's pregnant. Those are all considerations that should be given some thought first. Talking to a doctor and a dietician who are familiar with the vegan lifestyle and pregnancy *before* actually getting pregnant would be to the benefit of her and the baby - just like the folic acid. She'll likely need a thick skin, too, as I can *guarantee* her that, no matter how careful she is now his many doctors give her the go-ahead, there WILL be people who will judge her negatively for daring to not eat near. Never mind that she's healthier than any of us. Never mind that her baby w! ill be perfect. Never mind her good judgment in choosing not t! o contribute to the horror that are slaughter houses. NONE of that will matter to those who tell her - utterly convinced of their righteousness - that she is a horrible mother for starving her child in utero. (No, I'm not vegan. And I'm not sure about making children follow a strict vegan regimen. (In part because I think it's just like dragging them to church every week - chances are that they'll run the other way as soon as they can. It's like anything else - you have to truly believe in your own "whatever" and with that, teach them to exercise their own judgment and develop their own beliefs. If what you're doing is good and you *truly* believe in it, chances are they'll make a good decision on it themselves. Whereas trying to force your beliefs on them is going to serve best to show clearly the holes in that belief system - whatever it might be.)Ya ya. This is prolly far more involved than you had in mind...lol....Show more
